In today’s world, there are too many moving parts for one cog in the machine to consider. That’s why confining people into specified jobs can create problems within workflow. Establishing an interdisciplinary approach allows for self-sufficiency within the product life cycle and helps to stimulate creative solutions to complex problems. Here at Nexum we promote thinking outside the box and drawing on multiple disciplines to construct innovative games.

HYPER CASUAL GAME

PupBeat is a side-flying, music reactive, hyper casual game. Combining music, reactive game-elements, flying dogs, global leaderboards, Independent Artist enablement, and social giveback programs… there is no other casual game quite like PupBeat.

VoxRun takes the DNA of the infinite runner and adds in music as the main ingredient to change the experience. The marriage of music and gaming is at the core of every game and that notion is further explored in VoxRun.

Pup beat is an infinite side flyer where music is the lifeline of the game. Elements of pupbeats game boards have been scripted to react to the music. You can join in by creating a range of works:

DOGS

The main character! Create any kind of dog character you can think of that fits in the theme of the game! The requirements are that you must include the source file so sizing will not be an issue when implementing to the game and that the character is a dog with at least one feature. Dogs can be 3D or 2D, the game supports both types! Creators keep 70% of the profits their characters make in-game after the Gaming Platform takes their standard 33% cut.

TRAILS

Trails are the particles that follow the dog character. Trails must be compatible with Unity’s Particle System, and be tested beforehand to properly follow a parent object that is STATIC. The trail must flow as a trail without movement from the object it is parented to. Creators keep 70% of the profits their trails make in-game after the Gaming Platform takes their standard 33% cut.

MUSIC

The soul of the game! If you make music, submit your tunes on the creator portal to be featured in the game! Players in the game can choose any song at any time so there is no limitation to how your song can be played! Creators keep 70% of the profits their trails make in-game after the Gaming Platform takes their standard 33% cut.

LEVELS

These are the levels that are in the game. A level is comprised of a few things: A 2D Parallax Background (A background that can be repeated infinitely), a midground and a foreground element (Can be 2D or 3D), and a few props (2D or 3D) for the scene. As this game utilizes a script that can make any artwork react to the BPM of a song, you need to select at least one element that you created to be the element that will react to the BPM of the song.

Complete Offering (Boards):

If you want to release a full suite of game elements, you can release a board. A board includes all the above, with the option of also including music if you want, but it must include the other items that make up a complete experience. Creators keep 90% of the profits their trails make in-game after the Gaming Platform takes their standard 33% cut.
